A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT
BIDS AND AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SOLID
WASTE CONTAINERS FOR 1997 FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, the purchase of these 90 gallon waste containers will allow Solid Waste
Collection to ensure an adequate supply of carts are available in 1997 for new customers, to provide
carts for those that have not received an initial cart, and to replace carts that have been severely
damaged or lost; and
WHEREAS, approximately 600 customers are without an initial cart at this time; and
WHEREAS, an estimate of 600 carts are needed for new customers and another 600 carts
are needed for replacement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids and award a contract to Ameri-
Cart of Goddard, Kansas, the low bidder meeting specifications, in an amount not to exceed $80,700
for the purchase of 2,000 ninety (90) gallon solid waste containers for the Public Works Department.
SECTION 2. Funding for this purpose is available from account number 603 - 220 -2110-
7119.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
