191141 ORDINANCE NO. 19,114 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 20 OF CITY OF 4 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS REVISED CODE (1988) 5 CONCERNING NUISANCES TO PROVIDE FOR SEVEN DAYS' 6 NOTICE BEFORE CITATIONS MAY BE GIVEN; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, a committee of concerned citizens has continued to meet with 10 Housing and Neighborhood Programs Department staff over a period of many months 11 to carefully consider the problem of nuisances within the City and possible solutions to 12 the presence of such nuisances, and 13 WHEREAS, the Housing and Neighborhood Department staff and committee 14 members have submitted a suggestion for the following amendment to the revised code 15 which they highly recommend for adoption by the Little Rock Board of Directors in 16 order to strengthen the nuisance standards within the City, and 17 WHEREAS, this amendment is appropriate and necessary for the health, safety 18 and welfare of citizens. 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 20 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The existing Section 20- 2(c)(3) of Little Rock, Arkansas Revised 22 Code (1988) is hereby deleted in its entirety and the following language shall be 23 substituted therefor: 24 Sec. 20 -2 (c) (3). In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the ordinance. Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
