3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., ORDINANCE NO. 16,345
4 REDUCING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE SISTER CITIES COMMISSION;
5 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, the City passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 16,306 (November 17, 1992),
8 establishing a Sister Cities Commission to fulfill the purposes stated in that ordinance; and
9 WHEREAS, the City subsequently passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 16,345 (January
10 19, 1993), expanding the membership of the Sister Cities Commission; and
11 WHEREAS, the City subsequently passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 18,199
12 (February 1, 2000), further expanding the membership of the Sister Cities Commission
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
14 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
15 SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 16,306 is hereby amended to read as follows:
16 The Commission shall consist of thirteen (13) members who shall be
17 appointed by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the
18 City Manager. Members of the Commission may include employees of
19 the City and members of the Board of Directors. The initial
20 Commission will be chosen as follows: two (2) members for a term of
21 one (1) year, two (2) members for a term of two (2) years, three (3)
22 members for a term of three (3) years, three (3) members for a term of
23 four (4) years, and three (3) members for a term of five (5) years. After
24 the initial appointment, all appointments shall be for a period of five (5)
25 years, or until a successor is qualified, provided no person shall be
26 appointed for more than two (2) consecutive full terms.
27 SECTION 2. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are
28 inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such
29 inconsistency.
