18452I ORDINANCE NO. 18,452 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL FUND FOR 4 THE OPERATIONAL COSTS OF THE PULASKI COUNTY 5 REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER; TO DECLARE AN 6 EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the various municipalities in Pulaski County have been 9 requested to provide additional funds for the operation of an expanded Pulaski 10 County Regional Detention Center, and 11 WHEREAS, the expansion will include renovation of the Work Release 12 Center and the addition of eighty (80) beds to house additional prisoners, and 13 WHEREAS, the capital costs of such renovation will be paid by Pulaski 14 County, and the completion date will be July 1, 2001, and 15 WHEREAS, a formula for the operational costs of each jurisdiction for this 16 six month period includes $4,417 from the City of Jacksonville, $77,299 from the 17 City of Little Rock, $2,209 from the City of Maumelle, $55,213 from the City of 18 North Little Rock, $72,881 from Pulaski County, and $8,834 from the City of 19 Sherwood, and 20 WHEREAS, the agreement to make this appropriation shall require 21 modification of the existing interlocal agreement between the Central Arkansas 22 governmental entities to note this additional payment, but while that process is in 23 place, the City of Little Rock wishes to demonstrate its support for this effort by 24 making this appropriation, 25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 26 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 27 Section 1. An appropriation in the amount of seventy seven thousand two 28 hundred and ninety -nine dollars ($77,299.00) to fund operational costs for new 29 operations at an expansion of the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center is 30 hereby authorized. • i 1 Section 2. Funds for this appropriation are available from the 1998 Special 2 Projects Account. 3 Section 3. The City states its intent to enter into a new interlocal 4 agreement, or a revised interlocal agreement, with the governments in Central 5 Arkansas in order to participate with this additional funding for the Pulaski County 6 Regional Detention Center. 7 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, 8 sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be 9 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the 10 remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if 11 the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a 12 part of the ordinance. 13 Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, including by not limited 14 to Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 18,409 (December 26, 2000) ("the 2001 Budget 15 ordinance"), is hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 16 Section 6. Emergency.
