184300 0 I ORDINANCE NO. 18,430 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., 4 ORDINANCE NO. 18,199, REDUCING THE MEMBERSHIP OF 5 THE SISTER CITIES COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 16,306 9 (November 17, 1992), establishing a Sister Cities Commission to fulfill the purposes 10 stated in that ordinance, and 11 WHEREAS, the City subsequently passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 12 16,345 (January 19, 1993), expanding the membership of the Sister Cities Commission 13 to include 13 members, and 14 WHEREAS, the City subsequently passed Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 15 18,199 (February 1, 2000), expanding the membership of the Sister Cities Commission 16 to include 14 members. 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 18 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 16,306 is hereby amended to read as 20 follows: 21 The Commission shall consist of thirteen (13) members who 22 shall be appointed by the Board of Directors upon the 23 recommendation of the City Manager. Members of the 24 Commission may include employees of the City and 9 0 1 members of the Board of Directors. The initial Commission 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 will be chosen as follows: two (2) members for a term of one (1) year, two (2) members for a term of two (2) years, three (3) members for a term of three (3) years, three (3) members for a term of four (4) years, and three (3) members for a term of five (5) years. After the initial appointment, all appointments shall be for a period of five (5) years, or until a successor is qualified, provided no person shall be appointed for more than two (2) consecutive full terms.
