183701 958 2 ORDINANCE NO. 18 370 k, 4 AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH COMPETITIVE 5 BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 6 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH 7 CRANFORD JOHNSON ROBINSON WOODS, INC.; 8 DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. T i i WHEREAS, since its inception, the Little Rock Commission on Domestic 12 Violence sought to provide a public awareness campaign on the subject of domestic 13 violence, and 14 WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process, Cranford, Johnson, Robinson 15 Woods, Inc. was selected to be the provider of the twelve -month public awareness 16 campaign, and 17 WHEREAS, the contract for the public awareness campaign ended on 18 September 9, 2000 with money exceeding $10,000.00 remaining unspent out of the 19 authorized contract amount of $100,000, and 20 WHEREAS, October is Domestic Violence Prevention Month and the 21 Commission is sponsoring or participating in many activities to educate the public at 22 large and to provide followup services during that month and the following two months, 23 and 24 WHEREAS, utilizing the program, advertisements and materials already 25 developed by Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, Inc. would be the most efficient and 26 cost - effective method of increasing public awareness and contributing to the coordinated -1- 959 I community response during Domestic Violence Prevention Month and the rest of the 2 year. 3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 4 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 5 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to dispense with competitive 6 bidding and enter into a sole source contract with Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, 7 Inc. in the amount not to exceed $10,000.00 to continue the City's domestic violence 8 public awareness campaign during the remaining critical months of this year . 9 Section 2. Little Rock, Ark.
