AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN
BLOCK 72 OF THE ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Little Rock City Clerk on the
4th day of October, 1999, asking the Little Rock Board of Directors to vacate and
abandon all of the alley in Block 72 of Original City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as
designated on the Map of said Addition now appearing of record in Deed Book
L, Page 491, in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of Directors
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring
to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the alley herefnbefore
described has been dedicated to the public use as an alley; that the alley is no
longer needed for public traffic purposes; that all owners of the property
abutting the alley to be vacated have filed with the City Clerk their written
consent to the abandonment; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected
by the abandonment of the alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Except as stated in Section 2 below, the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its right, together with the

1 rights of the public generally, in and to the alley designated as follows:
2 North - South alley in Block 72, Original City of Little
3 Rock, extending from 7th Street to 8th Street between
4 Main Street and Louisiana Street.

6 SECTION 2. The city specially retains the right to use, and allow others
7 to use, the former alley right of way in its entirety as a public utility and drainage
8 easement, and the city retains at least twelve (12) feet width of the former alley
9 right of way as an access easement for fire department vehicles and equipment.
10 SECTION 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk,
11 shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County and recorded in the
12 records of the County.
