181290 0 1 ORDINANCE NO. 18,129 690 2 3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF 4 ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, 5 PROVIDING FOR REVISIONS TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN 6 ALLEYS AND LOADING ZONES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock traffic enforcement personnel have experienced 9 an increasing problem of persons parking in alleys and loading zones adjacent to businesses 10 which causes congestion, obstruction and unsafe conditions as a result of the parking 11 problem; and 12 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock has determined a need 13 to modify the current parking regulations concerning alleys and loading zones as herein 14 provided. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS 16 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 SECTION 1. Chapter 32 of the Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code (1988) ( "LRC ") Section 18 32 -311 (a) and (b) is deleted in its entirety and the following language is substituted therefor: 19 §. 32 -311. Parking in alleys. 20 It is unlawful for any person to park, stand or stop a vehicle in any alley except 21 an alley used for commercial purposes and then only for such time as 22 necessary to load and unload the vehicle. Commercial vehicles parked in an 23 alley for loading and unloading shall be clearly identified with permanent 24 signage on the exterior of the vehicle indicating the name and address of the 25 business. Under no circumstances shall a vehicle be parked or stopped in an 26 alley in such a manner as to leave less than ten (10) feet of available roadway 27 width for the free movement of vehicular traffic, or to block the driveways of 28 abutting properties. i 0 1 SECTION 2. LRC Section 32 -344 is amended only to add the following language 2 to the end of that section: 691 3 Commercial vehicles shall be designated with signage as provided in section 4 32 -311. 5 SECTION 3. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, laws or policies, or parts of 6 any such material, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the 7 extent of such inconsistency. 8 SECTION 4.
