181120 0 ORDINANCE NO. 18,112 1 s4V 2 3 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF 4 PROPERTY FOR CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 2000 FOR 5 VARIOUS FUNDS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK. 6 7 7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 9 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 10 SECTION 1. The rate of taxation of real and personal property in the City of Little 11 12 Rock, Arkansas for certain City purposes is hereby fixed, established and levied as follows: 13 For general purposes in order to carry on the affairs of the City 14 Government under Section 4, Article 12 of and Amendment 10 to the 15 Constitution of Arkansas of 1874, there is hereby levied a tax of five (5) mills; 16 17 For the purpose of paying bonds and interest as may be required for the 18 City of Little Rock, Arkansas, for Capital Improvement Bonds, approved at a 19 special election held on October 11, 1994, and issued on February 1, 1995, 20 there is hereby levied a tax of three and three tenths (3.3) mills; 21 22 For the purpose of paying Policemen's Pensions in accordance with 23 provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, 24 a tax of one (1) mill; 25 26 For the purpose of Paying Firemen's Pensions in accordance with the 27 provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas 28 29 adopted November 5, 1940, and Act 16 of the acts of the General Assembly of 30 31 the State of Arkansas for the year 1941, a tax of one (1) mill; 32 For the purpose of maintaining the City Library, in accordance with the 33 provisions of Amendment No. 30 to the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, .34 35 a tax of one and eight tenths (1.8) mills; 36 0 64 I For the purpose of paying bonds and interest as may be required for the 12 City of Little Rock, Arkansas, for Library System Capital Improvement Bonds, 3 1 approved at a general election held on November 3, 1998, the tax levy was 4 1 reduced from one and nine tenths (1.9) mills to one (1) mill 5 5 SECTION 2. Since the City achieved equalization in 1989 under the provisions of 7 Amendment 59 to the Arkansas Constitution, the tax rates are the same for both real and 8 personal property. 9 SECTION 3.
