AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXEMPT BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AWARD AN ONLY
SOURCE BID TO TODAY'S OFFICE, INC., FOR THE
PURCHASE OF MODULAR OFFICE EQUIPMENT FOR THE
FINANCE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the accounting Division of the Finance Department currently is
furnished with Steelcase modular furniture; and
WHEREAS, this furniture was bid in December, 1998 and Today's Office was the
successful bidder; and
WHEREAS, the existing work area needs to be increased due to new personnel
and the relocation of staff; and
WHEREAS, Today's Office is the only dealer of Steelcase furniture in this area and
the new additions must be compatible with the existing furniture; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the bid practice be exempt for this specific
purpose and award the bid to Today's Office as an only source provider of this modular
office equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids and award a contract
to Today's Office in the amount of $13,259.26 for the purchase of modular office
equipment for the Finance Department.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to exempt bidding procedures and
award an only source bid to Today's Office, Inc., to ensure proper compatibility.
SECTION 3. Funding for this purpose is available from account number 100 -111-
1110 -7019.
