AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT TO ARGENBRIGHT
SECURITY TO PROVIDE SECURITY SERVICES FOR THE
MUNICIPAL COURTS BUILDING; APPROPRIATING FUNDS;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City's Municipal Courts is the only court system in the City of Little Rock
which has no building security system in place; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Marshall's office has donated to the City a walk- through metal detector
and an extra machine; and
WHEREAS, the City desires a contract with an outside security company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the $31,204 needed to pay for the rest of 1999 be appropriated from
account 100 -8500 and transferred to the Municipal Court budget account 100- 060 - 1053- 6081 -99.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to accept bids and enter into a contract with
Argenbright Security in the amount of $31,204 for the remainder of 1999 with a provision for renewal
of the contract for the years 2000 and 2001.
SECTION 3. Emergency. It is hereby found and declared that an immediate need exists for
greater security to be placed in the Municipal Courts Building. It is, therefore, declared that an
emergency exists. This Ordinance, being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
