AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., REV.
CODE § 2.243(a)(2) (1988) TO ADD MUNICIPAL CODE
CODIFICATION TO THE LIST OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
Short Title
"AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE ORDINANCE CODIFICATION A PROFESSIONAL
SERVICE"
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 19- 11-806 (Michie Supp. 1997), cities are
permitted to define certain activities as professional services for which public contracts are awarded
to the most qualified firm as opposed to the firm submitting the lowest price and, in such situations
cities are not permitted to consider price as a part of a bid, and
WHEREAS, it is periodically necessary to recodify municipal ordinances but, with new
technologies it is not always appropriate to simply use the lowest price, but to consider other
possibilities such as immediate update, Internet capabilities, computer updates, CD-Rom technology
and other matters,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Little Rock, Ark., Rev. Code § 2- 243(a)(2) (1988) is hereby amended to add
"municipal code codification services," to the list of professional services.
