A ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
APPROVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACTS UP
TO $50,000, EXCLUSIVE OF POLITICAL CONSULTANTS
AND LOBBYISTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City Manager, until about a year ago, had the authority to award
professional service contracts; and
WHEREAS, currently all professional service contracts, regardless of size, are required
to come to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, this action will simplify the Board Agenda and will allow the City
Manager to move more quickly with actions to implement Board approved policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve professional service contracts
up to $50,000, exclusive of political consultants and lobbyists, which must still receive Board
approval.
SECTION 2. All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this ordinance are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
