4 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17, ARTICLE 11 OF
5 THE LITTLE ROCK CITY CODE, 1988 PERTAINING TO
6 LICENSE AND PRIVILEGE TAXES.

9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
to THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
11 SECTION 17 -47. LICENSE.

Section 17 -47 of the Little Rock City Code, 1988 ( "LRCC ") is amended to read

14 as follows:
15 It shall be the duty of the Treasury Manager, upon receipt of the
16 amount of the privilege tax required by this article to issue a license
17
18 to the person(s) liable therefor. The license shall reflect the amount
19 of the tax, the period of time covered, the name of the person to
20 whom issued, the location by street address where the person plans
21
to conduct business and the nature of the business, occupation or
22
23 profession involved. The Treasury Manager will not issue a
24 privilege license to any person who is delinquent in the payment of
25 a privilege license for preceding years, nor shall a privilege license
26
27 be issued to any person whose place of business does not conform
28 with City Zoning laws or Pulaski County laws. It shall be the duty
29 of the Department of Planning and Pulaski County to provide
30
the proper data to the Finance Director for this purpose..

32 Mistakes in computation or incorrect information given verbally as
33 to the amount of tax due shall not prevent or prejudice the collection
34
by the City of what is actually provided for as due under the
35
36 provisions of this article.

SECTION 17 -53. Revocation or Suspension of License.
In addition to the penalties provided in section 1 -9 upon conviction,
the court may revoke a licensee's privilege license if the licensee or
their representative made false statements on the license application
or used the business premises for non - permitted business purposes.
Such revocation shall be in effect for one year. During that period,
no new privilege license shall be issued to the former licensee, and,
the former licensee, their heirs, successors and assigns, shall not
operate the same or similar business within the city for a period of
one year. Additionally, upon notification by Pulaski County,
that licensee • is in a delinquent status, Licensee will have sixty
(60) days to offer proof of payment. At this time, if no proof of
payment is forthcoming, the Finance Director may suspend the
privilege license until such time as licensee provides proof of
payment.
