3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 29, 30, 31, 32, 34
4 AND 36 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
5 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR
6 REPLACEMENT OF CERTAIN POSITION TITLES
7 WITH THE TERM "PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT:'

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Public Works Department has undergone changes
10 in the responsibility of certain staff members as well as changes in the titles of positions; and
11 WHEREAS, The Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Code (1988) (hereinafter designated "LRC ")
12 contains references in several chapters to position titles which are not consistent with the
13 current staff positions and responsibilities; and
14 WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the various-code provisions in order to
15 accomplish the desired changes in position titles.
16 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
17 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
18 SECTION 1. Chapter 29 of LRC is hereby amended to delete only the position titles
19 listed below and substituting the term "Public Works Department" for each such designation.
20 An "x" in italics preceded by a numeral in brackets indicates the number of times the title to
21 be changed appears in the section.

SECTION 7. Repealer. All other ordinances and resolutions and parts thereof in

conflict in whole or in part with any of the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to
3
the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 8. Severability. In the event any section, subsection, subdivision,
5
paragraph, subparagraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared
6
or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect
7
the remaining provisions of this ordinance, as if such invalid or unconstitutional provision was
8
not originally a part of this ordinance.
9
SECTION 9. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
10
passage.
