ORDINANCE NO. 17,628
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A CONTRACT WITH LASITER ASPHALT
MAINTENANCE CO., FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION
AND /OR WIDENING OF KANIS ROAD (BARROW
ROAD TO I -430), A JOINT PROJECT WITH THE
ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION
DEPARTMENT UTILIZING INTERMODAL SURFACE
TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT (ISTEA)
MONIES.
WHEREAS, the city has previously committed by resolution of the Board of Directors to a
local match on the Kanis Road Widening Project based on citizen requests and needed maintenance.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to transfer and appropriate the sum of $220,000
from the 1997 Infrastructure Fund and enter into a construction contract with Lasiter Asphalt
Maintenance Co., Inc., in the amount of $2,331,314.80 for the reconstruction and/or widening of Kanis
Road (Barrow Road to I -430).
SECTION 2. Project Account number is #215- 220 -0640.
SECTION 3. This ORDINANCE shall be in full force and effect from and after it's adoption.
