AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH IBM CORPORATION
TO PROVIDE MAINFRAME AND NETWORK HARDWARE
MAINTENANCE FOR THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT SUPPORT.
WHEREAS, these services have been bid twice during the period that IBM has held
the contract with IBM being the only respondent each time; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to maintain a high level of support as these products
support emergency services along with administrative services; and
WHEREAS, IBM is in a position to provide such service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to dispense with competitive bidding
and enter into a sole source contract with IBM Corporation to provide mainframe and
network hardware maintenance for the Office of Management Support.
SECTION 2. Funding for this project is available in account number 113 -1350-
4122; the current monthly payment is $3,414 with the annual amount being $49,968 (the fee
will vary as equipment is added or deleted from the maintenance agreement).
SECTION 3. It is also recommended that all aspects of this contract be renewable
for a period of three years with City Manager approval.
