ORDINANCE NO. 17,473
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $200,000 FROM THE LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO BE PAID TO PULASKI
COUNTY FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE JOINT SPENDING PLAN
FOR THE TECHNOLOGICAL NEEDS OF THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the Department of Justice awarded the City $1,196,018 to be utilized for
procuring equipment, technology, and other material directly related to basic law enforcement
functions; and
W H EREAS, the City appropriated a match of $132,891 in August of 1996, to bring the
total to $1,328,909; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Justice awarded Pulaski County $123,522 under the
program; and
WHEREAS, due to the grant guidelines concerning funding disparities within jurisdictions,
the City and County were required to submit a Joint Spending Plan that obligated the City to
appropriate to Pulaski County a sum of $200,000 to be deposited in their Local Law Enforcement
Block Grant Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City's grant total following the adjustment is $1,128,909.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $200,000 from the Local Law
Enforcement Block Grant Funds to be paid to Pulaski County for the City's share of the Joint
Spending Plan for the technological needs of the Little Rock Police Department.
