3 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $150,000 FOR

5 TWO NEW TENNIS COURTS AND RELATED
6 IMPROVEMENTS AT REBSAMEN TENNIS

8 CENTER; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
9 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH
10 TOWNSHIP BUILDERS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF

12 THE TENNIS COURTS.

14 WHEREAS, Rebsamen Tennis Center has fifteen existing tennis courts and
15
16 hosts thirty tournaments yearly; and
17 WHEREAS, in addition, Rebsamen supports tennis programs for UALR, ten
18
19 high schools, ten junior high schools and the general public; and
20 WHEREAS, the addition of two new tennis courts will help satisfy the growing
21 demand of participation at the Rebsamen Tennis Center and will seize the interest to
22
23 "keep fit for life" a concept that Parks and Recreation strives to promote:
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
25 DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

27 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to appropriate $150,000 from
28 account number 303- 230 -0384 for two new tennis courts and related improvements at
29
30 Rebsamen Tennis Center.
31 SECTION 2. The City Manager is also authorized to enter into a contract with
32 Township Builders, inc., in the amount of $135,000 for construction of the tennis
33
34 courts.
