AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE RIVER MARKET
DESIGN OVERLAY DISTRICT GUIDELINES
(ORDINANCE NO. 17,240) AND FOR OTHER
MATTERS.
WHEREAS, River Market Design Review Committee believes
it is appropriate to amend the Design Overlay District
guidelines; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission after review of the
amendments at a public hearing recommends to amend the
Design Overlay District guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION ONE. In Sec. 36 -361. Parking. (C)Parking lot
lighting and design. the following deletions:
1. Parking lot lighting shall match the style used
on the streetscape.
SECTION TWO. In Sec. 36 -361. Parking. (C)Parking lot
lighting and design. the following additions:
1. Perimeter lighting on parking lots shall match the
style used on the
streetscape.

Interior fixtures
shall be mounted on poles with a
maximum height of
30' -011.
7.
Interior lighting
levels shall be in the range of
one to three foot -
candles.
8.
Interior lighting
fixtures shall be of square
shoebox type or pre- approved substitute.
9.
Lamps shall be of
the metal halide type.
10.
Interior lighting
fixtures shall have sag -type
lenses.
11.
Interior lighting
poles shall be painted dark
bronze.
12.
Interior lighting
poles shall be a square straight
steel pole GSP- 30 -BRP
or pre- approved substitute.
13.
Interior lighting
pole arms shall be RTS30 -6511-
UMB-28 or pre- approved substitute.
SECTION THREE. In Sec. 36 -361. Parking
requirements. the following deletions:

(D) Parking
The DRC may determine that the off street parking
requirements of Article VIII of this chapter do not
apply to a development proposal within the District if
the developer agrees to use existing public parking
lots in lieu of providing off street parking. If the
developer does not agree to use public parking lots the
developer shall seek a waiver of off street parking
requirements from the City Board of Directors.
SECTION FOUR. In Sec: 36 -361. Parking. (D) Parking
requirements. the following additions:
1. Parking requirements shall be as established in
Article VI of this chapter.
2. The DRC shall make a recommendation to the Board
of Adjustment on any request for variance from the
off street - parking requirements of Article VI of
this chapter.
