ORDINANCE NO. 17,330
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR
A MODIFICATION OF THE CURRENT
LANGUAGE FOR PROVISIONS FOR FLOOD
HAZARD REDUCTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances be amended to provide for a
modification of the provisions for flood hazard reduction requirements within the Buildings and
Building Regulations of the City of Little Rock as follows:
Subsection a. That the language be modified of Section 8 -302 (2), which states
in part: "New construction and substantial improvement of any commercial, industrial, or other
nonresidential structure shall either have the lowest floor (including basement) elevated to one
(1) foot or greater above the base flood elevation or, together with attendant utility and sanitary
facilities, be designed so that below the base flood elevation the structure is watertight..." be
modified to state..." New construction and substantial improvement of any commercial,
industrial, or other nonresidential structure shall either have the lowest floor (including
basement) elevated to one (I) foot or greater above the base flood elevation or, together with
attendant utility and sanitary facilities, be designed so that below the elevation of one (1) foot
above the base flood elevation the structure is watertight...."
SECTION 2. This ORDINANCE shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after
its passage.
