3 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING FUNDS
4 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AN ALERT CENTER AND AN ADJACENT

6 PARKING LOT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
7 INTO CONTRACTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 16,822 the Board of Directors transferred funds
11 to the FUTURE - Little Rock reserve account, including funds for the establishment of
12
13 new alert centers within the City; and
14 WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant from the Department of Housing
15 and Urban Development, including funds for the expansion of the City's alert center
16 network; and
17
18 WHEREAS, the City has advertised and received bids for the construction of the
19 alert center and parking lot, and staff recommends that the bids be awarded to the low
20 bidder; and
21
22 WHEREAS, the City Board of Directors wishes to reappropriate funds and award
23 contracts for the construction of a new alert center and parking lot in South Little Rock.

25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
26 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

28 SECTION 1. The sum of $47,000.00 is hereby reappropriated from the FUTURE
29 - Little Rock reserve account (account number 100 -8513) for the construction of an alert
30 center and parking lot in South Little Rock.

SECTION 2. The sum of $46,767.50 is hereby appropriated from HUD special
32
33 purpose grant number AR 37SPG503 for the construction of an alert center and parking
34 lot in South Little Rock.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept bids and award

2 contracts to the firms of Phillips Construction in the amount of $64,500 for construction
3 of the alert center and to Nathaniel Saine in the amount of $29,267.50 for construction
4 of the parking lot.
