AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE THAT
CONSULTING SERVICES TO DETERMINE
FAIR HOUSING ISSUES FOR THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, IS A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, desires to
conduct a study to determine if there are impediments to fair
housing within the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, consultant services are not professional services
as defined by Arkansas law, but the Board of Directors by
ordinance may, in accordance with Act 429 of 1995, declare a
particular service to be a professional service; and
WHEREAS, this study needs to be completed expeditiously and
the need for these services is granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City is permitted to hire a consultant to
develop an analysis of impediments to fair housing with the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, to include, among other things,
lending practices, zoning laws and building codes, insurance
problems, and other such impediments.
