169451 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 0 0 NO. 16,945 AN ORDINANCE WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH AT &T AND IBM TO CONTINUE COMPUTER MAINTENANCE FOR ONE YEAR. 285 WHEREAS, these hardware contracts provide complete time and material costs for all computer maintenance on a 24 -hour, 7 -day a week emergency basis; and WHEREAS, software support includes a 24 -hour hot line, new release updates, and program "fixes" as needed; and WHEREAS, these are software modules that can only be modified by the licensed vendor; therefore, it is impractical and unfeasible to competitively bid for these services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with AT &T in the amount of $70,000 to continue computer maintenance for one year. SECTION 2: The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with IBM in the amount of $167,000 to continue computer maintenance for one year. SECTION 3. Due to the unique nature of the contracts it is impractical and unfeasible to competitively bid for these services. SECTION 4. Funding is available in the current operating budget for this purpose.
