ORDINANCE NO. 16,936
AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE MONIES
TO PAY FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT CEDAR
HILL AND RIVERFRONT DRIVE;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a need for a traffic light at Riverfront Drive and
Cedar Hill Road has been established; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to pay a part of the cost of
installing this signal and to obtain full title and authority to
operate and control the signal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. An amount not to exceed $37,000 is hereby
appropriated from Balance Sheet Account No. 212 -8500 to pay part
of the cost of installing a traffic signal at Cedar Hill
Riverfront Drive. The City Manager is authorized to make this
payment upon receipt of appropriate documentation assuring that
title to the traffic signal is placed in the name of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. EMERGENCY. The ability to operate and control
traffic signals is essential to the preservation of the public
health, safety and welfare. An emergency is therefore declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its adoption.
