ORDINANCE NO. 16,766
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A WAIVER OF
PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
BUILDING CURRENTLY USED AS THE MAIN
BRANCH OF THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS
LIBRARY AT 700 SOUTH LOUISIANA
STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the Little Rock Board of Directors has authorized
the sale of two lots at 800 -808 Louisiana Street to St. Vincent
Infirmary Medical Center; and
WHEREAS, the two lots have been used for parking spaces for
the main branch of the public library; and
WHEREAS, the sale of the two lots will eliminate all
off - street parking for the library which will cause a hardship
sufficient to justify a variance from the parking requirements
of the Zoning Ordinance;
WHEREAS, said parking variance is necessary in order for
the City of Little Rock to be able to sell the library building
if it deems it necessary in the future.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: A variance is hereby granted from the parking
regulations required by Section 36 -417 of Little Rock Ark. Rev.
Code (1988) and no off - street parking spaces shall be required
for the building located at 700 South Louisiana Street.
