3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 34 -57 OF THE LITTLE
4 ROCK CITY CODE TO PLACE A CEILING ON TAXICAB
5 FARES TO BE CHARGED IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.

NOR, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
0 7 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
8 SECTION 1. Section 34 -57(b) of the Little Rock City Code
zzz 9 (Revised 1988) shall be amended to read as follows:
10 The last sentence of Sub - section (b) shall be
11 deleted and substituted with the following:
The ceiling rate shall apply to all taxicabs
n 12 operating in the City effective January 1, 1991.
13 (1) Exclusive ride: Ceiling rate - no more than
14 a ceiling rate of:
15 a. Initial meter charge ....... $1.10
16 b. Charge per mile............ 1.00
17 (2) No more than $.75 per additional person
18 shall be charged.

20 (3) - Waiting time ceiling rate - not to exceed
21 $18.00 per hour.
22 SECTION 2: Section 34 -56 of the Little Rock City Code
23 shall be amended by adding Sub - section (c) to read as follows:
24 (c) The Board of Directors shall annually review
25 the maximum ceiling meter rates as provided for in
this chapter to determine the appropriateness of the
26
rate.
