AN ORDINANCE TO CLARIFY THE
EXTRATERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES FOR THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND TO AMEND
THE WATER SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
THE CITY OF BRYANT TO REFLECT THOSE
BOUNDARIES.
WHEREAS, the City adopted Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No.
15,510 (July 5, 1988) which approved agreement with the City of
Bryant for the sale of water; and
WHEREAS, an integral part of that agreement was an
agreement by the City of Bryant to limit growth by annexation to
its extraterritorial planning area; and
W MEAS, the eastern edge of this extraterritorial planning
area has created an island surrounded on three sides by the City
of Bryant, and the City of Bryant would like to annex this
island and in the process to square up its northwest corner as a
good natural boundary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter
into an agreement that amends the appropriate paragraphs of an
Agreement entered into with the City of Bryant on July 11, 1988,
in order to permit the City of Bryant to annex a described
parcel of property in order to square up the northwest corner of
the City of Bryant as a good natural boundary.
SECTION 2. All laws and parts of law inconsistent with this
ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency.
SECTION 3. The ability to settle annexation matters is one
of great concern to the public health, safety and welfare of any
community, therefore, the ability to enter into an agreement
