AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE
REQUIREMENT FOR COMPETITIVE BIDDING
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AN ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH
XEROX CORP. TO PROVIDE FULL SERVICE
MAINTENANCE FOR THE PRINT SHOP XEROX
9500 COPIER, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
GENERAL SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors may dispense with the
requirement of competitive bidding in exceptional situations
where such procedure is not feasible; and
WHEREAS, the City currently owns a Xerox 9500 copier with
sorter which is approximately 7 years and 5 months old; and
WHEREAS, the monthly useage on this copier is approxi-
mately'-200,000 copies; and
WHEREAS, area competitors have confirmed that Xerox will
not sell parts except to authorized Xerox dealers and service
technicians and therefore it is impractical and unfeasible to
bid this contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby finds that
competitive bidding for the purchase of a full service
maintenance contract for the Print Shop 9500 copier is
impractical and unfeasible and therefore should be waived.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into an annual contract with Xerox Corp. in the amount of
$15,420 plus an overage cost of .018 per copy, to provide full
service copier maintenance for the Print Shop Xerox 9500 copier,
for the Department of General Services for the period from
December 2, 1992 to December 1, 1993.

SECTION . The City Manager is further authorized to
approve future extensions of this contract up to three years
per the terms of the original agreement.
