2 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
3 AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A DEED FOR
4 7.28 ACRES OF GILLAM PARK FIND TO
MCGEORGE EQUIPMENT RENTAL COMPANY

FOR CASH CONSIDERATION OF $15,910;
6 APPROPRIATING SAID SUM FOR FUTURE
7 GILLAM PARK IMPROVEMENTS; DECLARING
8 AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City has been negotiating with McGeorge
11 Equipment Rental Company (McGeorge) to acquire McGeorge's
12 interest in a large tract of land in the Fourche Bottoms to
13 assemble with other City lands; and
14 WHSRF.AS, McGeorge desired to acquire a 7.28 acre parcel of
15 City property located in the southeastern portion of Gillam Park
adjacent to other land owned by McGeorge; and
16 WHEREAS, pursuant to State law and City competitive bid
17 procedure, the City advertised for bid the 7.28 acre parcel of
18 Gillam Park and McGeorge was the sole bidder for the land,
19 offering a bid price of $15,910; and
20 WHEREAS, McGeorge has also offered to dedicate to the City
its undivided 1/2 interest in approximately 83 acres of land in
21 the Fourche Bottoms; and
22 WHEREAS, the cash compensation offered in the bid is fair
23 and reasonable under the circumstances and the City will benefit
24 from the dedication of the lands in the Fourche Bottom owned by
25 McGeorge; and
WHEREAS, the cash consideration received for the sale of
26 said land shall be appropriated and used for future Gillam Park
27 improvements pursuant to the Gillam Park Master Plan.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
29 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
30 SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to
execute a warranty deed to convey the City's interest in 7.28
31 acres of land in Gillam Park to McGeorge Equipment Rental
32 Company in exchange for the cash payment in the amount of
33 $15,910 as reflected in the bid.
34 SECTION 2. The cash consideration received for the sale of
35 said land shall be appropriated and used for future Gillam Park
improvements pursuant to the Gillam Park Master Plan.

SECTION 3. DECLARING AN EBERGENCY. It is necessary that the
City commence the proposed improvements to Gillam Park
immediately so that the park improvements will be constructed in
time for the Summer season. Therefore, it is in the best
interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens that
this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
