ORDINANCE NO. 16,454
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $250,000
FROM THE CITY'S EXCESS INTEREST
EARNING ACCOUNT OF THE 1988 CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT BOND FUND FOR ADDITIONAL
CONSTRUCTION COSTS AT THE SOUTHWEST
LITTLE ROCK COMMUNITY COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance 15,473 appropriated
$1,000,000 for construction of a Police substation, and $8,690,000
for Parks and Recreation improvements; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 8,832 (December 15, 1992) awarded the
construction contract to Progressive Constructors for construction
of the SWLR Complex; and
WHEREAS, due to a recent soil engineer's report it has been
determined that the soils are found unstable and as a result
undercutting and bridging is necessary to provide proper
foundation for buildings and roads; and
WHEREAS, additional appropriations are needed to bring the
complex out of unstable soil material, pay for related additional
consultant services and to provide for potential similar
additional cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $250,000
fro the City's excess interest earnings account of the 1988
Capital Improvement Bond Fund to Account No. 301 - 230 -0051 for
additional construction costs at the Southwest Little Rock
Community Complex.
