AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 31 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK,ARKANSAS, PROVIDING FOR A VARIANCE
FROM THE REQUIREMENTS ON PAVEMENT WIDTH
AND FOR CURB AND GUTTER, SIDEWALKS, AND
RIGHT -OF -WAY WIDTH ON CHENAL VALLEY LOOP,
AND A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIREMENT FOR
MAXIMUM STREET GRADES FOR RIDGEFIELD COURT
AND CHARLESTON LANE IN CHARLESTON HEIGHTS
SUBDIVISION (S- 767 -A)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 31 of the Code of Ordinances be
amended to provide for variances of certain requirements within
the Subdivision Regulations of the City of Little Rock for
Charleston Heights subdivision as follows:

Subsection a. That Chapter 31, Section 31 -209, Street
Classification and Standards, be amended to provide for a
variance of twelve (12) feet from the minor arterial street
standard which requires a sixty (60) foot width of roadway,
measured back to back of curbs, allowing thirty -six (36)
feet of pavement width, and to provide for a variance from
the minor arterial street standard which requires that
sidewalks be constructed on each side of the roadway to
require that a sidewalk must be constructed on one side
only, and a variance from the minor arterial street standard
which requires that the right -of -way be ninety (90) feet in
width to permit the right of way to be eighty (80) feet wide
on Chenal Valley Loop.
Subsection b. That Chapter 31, Section 31- 206(d),
Intersections and Alignment, be amended to provide for a
variance from the requirement that within the leveling area
of thirty (30) feet from an intersection the street grade
not exceed 5% and permit the street grade to be 10% at the
leveling area on Ridgefield Court at its intersection with
Forest Dale Drive and on Charleston Lane at its south
intersection with Chenal Valley Loop.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (3) days
from and after its passage.
