ORDINANCE NO. 16,405
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND CLOSING SHERMAN STREET
BETWEEN EAST CAPITOL AVENUE AND EAST FOURTH STREET
IN POPE'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Sherman Street
between East Capitol Avenue and East Fourth Street in Blocks
18 and 19 of Pope's Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, as designated on the plat of said Addition now
appearing of record in Deed Book H, Page 30, in the Office
of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, is no longer
needed for corporate purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to authority granted in Ark. Code
Ann. Sec. 14 -54 -104 (Michie 1987), the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its
rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in
and to the street designated as follows:
The 6o foot right -of -way, including utility easements,
of Sherman Street between East Capitol Avenue and East
Fourth Street, more particularly described as follows%
Beginning at the BE corner of Lot 1, Block 18, Pope's
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence N
09 degrees 45139" E along the East line of Block 18 a
distance of 300.501; thence S 80 degrees 23123" E
60.00' to the NW corner of Lot 7, Block 19, Pope's
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence
along the West line of Block 19 S 09 degrees 45139" W
300.431; thence N 80 degrees 27116" W 60.00' to the
point of beginning, containing .41 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. Abutting owners of record, receiving title
to the abandoned right -of -way and easement shall at their
cost remove all vestiges of public use and access as may
exist; such modifications shall include, but are not limited
to the following:
A. The entrances on both ends of the abandoned right -
of -way and easement shall be offset and /or rebuilt
to conform to the standard driveway design as
required by Ordinance No. 12,501.

B. The edge of pavement of the right -of -way shall be
rebuilt to conform to existing conditions in the
general vicinity where the abandoned right -of -way
and easement intersects with the remaining public
right -of -way.
SECTION 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder
of Pulaski County and recorded in the records of the County.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
