16388ORDINANCE NO. 16,388 • 1 2 3 4 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE A CONTRACT 5 BETWEEN THE GREATER LITTLE ROCK CHAMBER 6 OF COMMERCE AND THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK 7 FOR THE PAINT YOUR HEART OUT PROGRAM 8 WITHIN THE CITY; TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE 9 10 BIDDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 13 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Residential Housing and Public Facilities Board 14 granted the City $50,000 to be used for completion of the 1992 Paint Your Heart Out 15 program and to purchase paint and supplies for the 1993 program, and the City accepted 16 that grant in Resolution No. 8,747; and 17 i8 WHEREAS, numerous other participants are contributing to the program; and 19 20 WHEREAS, the City desires to contract with the Greater Little Rock Chamber 21 of Commerce to purchase program materials and supplies, and to serve as the prime 22 source of support and public information regarding the program; and 23 24 WHEREAS, it is impractical and unfeasible to competitively bid for the 25 contractual aspects of any agreement between the City and the Greater Little Rock 26 Chamber of Commerce. 27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BYTHE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 28 29 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 30 SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contractual 31 32 agreement with the Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce for the purpose of 33 purchasing program materials and supplies, and to serve as the prime source of support 34 and public information regarding the program, and to receive a $15,000 grant from the 35 City. 36 150 O- &3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 SECTION 2. Because the City can obtain these services through the Greater Little Rock Chamber of Commerce in the most effective manner, the Board of Directors finds that it is impractical and unfeasible to competitively bid for the services and products to be included in the contract.
