AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14,062
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
CONCERNING AMBULANCE AUTHORITY MEMBERSHIP,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 14,062, is hereby
amended to read as follows:
(a) The Ambulance Authority shall consist of five
persons. The initial members shall be designated by the City
Board of Directors, and thereupon shall be appointed by the Mayor
of the City with the consent of the City Board of Directors to
serve for terms of one, two, three, four, and five years,
respectively. Successor members shall be selected as provided in
the Act; provided that the Ambulance Authority shall, prior to
the appointment of each said successor or successors, submit a
letter to the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock,
listing the name and occupation of each proposed successor member
for review and /or comment by the Board of Directors of the City
of Little Rock. The members of the Ambulance Authority shall be
residents and qualified electors of the city and shall take and
file with the City Clerk the oath of office prescribed by the Act.
Further, the City Board of Directors shall make all reasonable
efforts to ensure that the Ambulance Authority shall be composed
of members whose occupation or expertise lies in the following
fields:
(a) President of the Arkansas Emergency Physicians
Foundation.
(b) Attorney
(c) Health Care Administrator
(d) Business

2 The initial members of the Ambulance Authority, each of whom is a
3 resident of the city, and their respective terms of office shall
4 be:

13 As soon as practicable after the enactment of the Ordinance, each
14 member of the Ambulance Authority shall qualify by taking and
15 filing with the City Clerk, the oath of office as prescribed by
16 the Act.
17 (b) In addition to the membership set out above, if the
18 Ambulance Authority expands, pursuant to Interlocal Agreement
19 approved by the Board of Directors, to provide ambulance service
20 to counties and other municipalities, not more than two (2)
21 additional members per governmental unit may be added to the
22 Little Rock Ambulance Authority Board. The appointment of such
new member(s), their terms, residency and other qualifications,
23
shall be determined by the terms of the Interlocal Agreement to
24
be approved by the City Board providing for such expansion of
25
service.
