AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 15 -20 OF
THE LITTLE ROCK CODE OF ORDINANCES,
PROVIDING FOR THE REQUIREMENT OF
RECEPTACLES ADEQUATE TO CONTAIN LITTER
AND GARBAGE; PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE
IN PENALTY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 15 -20 of the Little Rock Code of
Ordinances shall be amended by adding sub - section (d) Receptacle
Maintenance, to read as follows:
(d) Receptacle Maintenance
All business establishments who provide
goods, services, or food which may be or are
customarily taken outside of said business
establishment shall be required to provide and
maintain receptacles on or about the exterior
of their premises, sufficient to contain all
litter or garbage which may be taken outside
their premises. Further, said business
establishments shall empty these receptacles
in a timely manner so as to ensure proper
disposal by the City or private carrier.
Said business establishments shall ensure
that their premises and any rights -of -way
abutting on their premises shall be free from
any litter or garbage which may be carried
from their business establishment.
SECTION 2. Sub - section (d) Penalty of Ordinance § 15 -2C
shall be re- lettered as sub - section (e).

SECTION 3. Sub - section (d) Penalty of Ordinance § 15 -20
shall be amended by substituting language increasing the penalty
for violating the provisions of this ordinance to a fine of not
more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
