AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF
THE MASTER STREET PLAN (ORDINANCE
NO. 14,210,) OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO REFINE THE
ALIGNMENT OF BOWMAN, LAWSON, AND
COLONEL GLENN ROADS, AND CONNECTION
BETWEEN UNIVERSITY AVENUE, GEYER
SPRINGS AND MABELVALE PIKE.

WHEREAS, the City and consultant (White - Daters and
Associates) have studied the alignment of Bowman and Lawson Roads
to improve the connections and reduce future traffic hazards at
the junction of three arterials (Bowman, Colonel Glenn, and
Lawson Roads); and
WHEREAS, the staff studied the traffic flow between
University Avenue, Geyer Springs and Mabelvale Pike to improve
connections and reduce present and future traffic hazards by
adding 57th Street (collector) and removing Mabelvale Pike
(arterial) from University Avenue to Geyer Springs; and
WHEREAS. the PATS Coordinating Committee has agreed with
these changes to the street plan; and
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Planning Commission reviewed the
new alignment and after a public hearing recommends the adoption
of the amendments for the Master Street Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That Section 3 of the Master Street Plan be
amended to provide for the new alignment of Bowman and Lawson
Roads, removal of Mabelvale Pike between University Avenue and
Geyer Springs Road and the addition of 57th Street between
University Avenue and Geyer Springs.
SECTION 2. That a portion of Section 3 of the Master Street
Plan entitled "Arterial - Principal" is amended as follows:
