AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CENTRAL CITY
LAND USE PLAN WEST OF HIGH STREET ON
THE NORTH SIDE OF ROOSEVELT ROAD
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Planning Commission has found,
after a public hearing, that the commercial node at High
Street and Roosevelt Road should be enlarged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That the Central City Land Use Plan Map is
amended to show one additional parcel for commercial use
rather than for single family use on the north side of
Roosevelt Road west of High Street.
SECTION 2. The text of the Central City District Plan
is amended to:
Delete:
"Commercial development is proposed in areas of
established commercial use and zoning such as the north
three blocks of Main Street; Roosevelt at Main;
Broadway and High Streets; the Safeway center at Main
and 17th Streets; Wright at High and Battery; Chester
at 14th and Arch at 28th."
Add:
"Commercial development is proposed in areas of
established commercial use and zoning. Major
commercial nodes are found at Roosevelt intersection
with Main, Broadway and High Street; Main Street at
17th Street; three north blocks of Main. The NW
guadrant of the Roosevelt /High commercial node shall
have neighborhood commercial uses in order to create a
transition from the intense commercial intersection to
the residential uses to the west. Other commercial
nodes can be found at Wright with High or Battery;
Chester and 14th; or Arch and 28th Street."
