AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MASTER STREET
PLAN IN AN AREA SOUTH OF ROCK CREEK PARKWAY
AND NORTH OF COLONEL GLENN, CHANGING THE
ALIGNMENT OF 36TH STREET /KANIS ROAD AND COOPER
ORBIT ROAD AS WELL AS SEVERAL COLLECTORS,
AND OTHER MATTERS
WHEREAS, the Engineering Staff finds the proposed
alignment of Kanis Road south of Rock Creek Parkway is
inadequate and should be altered; and
WHEREAS, a major land owner has requested a shift of 36th
Street extension at Kanis /Cooper Orbit Road so that they might
build the road; and
WHEREAS, through the Subdivision process, an alternative,
Gamble Road, extension alignment has been proposed; and
WHEREAS,. the Little Rock Planning Commission has, after
holding a public hearing, recommended the proposed changes and
additions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
Section 1. That the Little Rock Master Street Plan map
is amended to the alignment of 36th Street
extension / Kanis Road as shown on the attached map.

Section 2. That Kanis Road is down - graded to a collector
from approximately Rock Creek to Baker Lane. In addition
to the normal Master Street Plan requirements, a 45 foot
building setback from the road right -of -way center line
is required in this segment.
Section 3. That the Master Street Plan map alignment for
Gamble Road south of Kanis, a collector, is amended as
shown on the attached map.
Section 4. A collector is removed (Cooper Orbit Cove and
extensions) from Cooper Orbit Road to 36th Street
extension.
Section 5. That the Master Street Plan map is amended to
stop Kerby Road (a collector) some 600 feet north of
Kanis Road, turning east to Asbury, and then south to
Kanis.
Section 6. That the Master Street Plan text in the

chapter entitled "Functional Classification of Street
System, Collector Section" is amended to add:
