15022M M M M 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 M M M M ORDINANCE NO. 15,022 AN ORDINANCE DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT FOR COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF THE NON - UNIFORM CITY EMPLOYEES LONG -TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE POLICY WITH THE TRAVELERS INSURANCE COMPANY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors may dispense with the requirement of competitive bidding in exceptional situations where such procedure is not feasible; and WHEREAS, the City's Long -Term Disability Plan policy with the Travelers Insurance Company expires January 1, 1986; and WHEREAS, this policy has been in effect since December 1, 1982; and WHEREAS, service provided by Travelers Insurance has been excellent and the rates continue to be lower than any other company. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby finds that competitive bidding should be dispensed with for the renewal of a contract for long -term disability insurance for non - uniform employees as an exceptional situation exists and competitive bidding is not feasible. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to renew the contract with the Travelers Insurance Company for long -term disability insurance for non - uniform employees effective January 1, 1986. SECTION 3. Declaring an Emergency. Therefore, an emergency is declared to exist, and this Ordinance is necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
