14513ORDINANCE NO. 14,513 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CURRENT OPERATION OF ALL EMERGENCY AND NON- EMERGENCY AMBULANCE OPERATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors for the City of Little Rock, Arkansas has adopted a comprehensive ordinance dealing with the regulation and control of ambulances and ambulance service in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas and, WHEREAS, said comprehensive ordinance will not be completely implemented until October 31, 1984. NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1: All persons, firms or corporations who are currently providing ambulance service in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, whether emergency, non - emergency or both shall be authorized to continue to operate under the same terms and conditions as they now operate until October 31, 1984. On October 31, 1984 said authorization will automatically expire and no ambulance service, emergency or non - emergency, shall engage in business within the corporate limits of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas with the provisions of Ordinance Number 14,511 SECTION 2: A $10.00 fee is hereby levied on each ambulance run made by any emergency or non - emergency ambulance operator in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, which may be passed on to the consumer. Said fee shall be collected by each ambulance operator and paid into the general fund of the City of Little Rock on the first day of each calendar month. SECTION 3: The Ambulance Authority is empowered to conduct audits of existing ambulance operators and may recommend to the Litle Rock Board of Directors the revocation of any company's 09111 r 431 right to do business, for failure to collect the prescribed fee or for failure to properly protect the safety and health of any person transported by an ambulance operator.
