ORDINANCE NO. 14,306
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BEST BID TO FUR-
NISH IMPROVEMENTS TO FORBING ROAD; AWARDING
A CONTRACT THEREFOR; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE BEST
BIDDER; ALLOCATING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR SAID IMPROVEMENTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1., That the Board of Directors finds that
the bid of Ben M. Hogan and Company of Little Rock, Arkansas
for reconstruction of Forbing Road by roadway widening from
two to four lanes between Geyer Springs Road and University
Avenue, construction of an underground drainage system,
railroad crossing improvements and other improvements, is the
lowest bidder and best bid; and, that the Board of Directors
should and hereby does accept that bid; and it awards the
contract for such reconstruction work to Ben M. Hogan and
Company in the sum of $488,544.00.
Section 2. That the Little Rock City Manager is
hereby authorized and directed to prepare and execute a
contract with Ben M. Hogan and Company for reconstruction
work on Forbing Road, and to do all things necessary to accom-
plish that purpose.
Section 3. That the remaining allocation of
$416,547.26 for reconstruction work on the Forbing Road
project is hereby appropriated and allocated to Account No.
399 -910S to be used to fund the reconstruction work on the
Forbing Road Project.
Section 4. That the sum of $42,050.41 is hereby
reallocated from Account No. 399 -9103 to Account No. 399 -9105;
and said sum is appropriated to be used to fund the recon-
struction work on the Forbing Road Project.
Section S. That the sum of $30,000.00 is hereby
reallocated from Account No. 399 -9101 to Account No. 399 -9105;

and said sum is appropriated to be used to fund the reconstruc-
tion work on the Forbing Road Project.
Section 6. That the Little Rock City Manager is
hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement
with the Missouri - Pacific Railroad Company for repair and /or
improvement in railroad crossings and railroad signal repairs
and /or improvements on the Forbing Road Project in a sum not
to exceed $80,000.00.
Section 7. This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.

SUBJ: Capital Improvement Project
For.bing Road Reconstruction
BOARD ACTION REQUIRED:
1. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with
Ben M. Hogan Company for an amount of $488,544.00.
2. Appropriate remaining allocation of $416,547.26 to
Account #399 - 9105.
3. Transfer allocation of $42,050.41 from Account 1#399-9103
to Account #399 -9105 and appropriate said amount.
4. Transfer allocation of $30,000.00 from Account #399 -9101
to Account #399 =9105 and appropriate said amount.
5. Authorize City Manager to enter into an agreement with
Missouri Pacific Railroad for railway crossings and
railway signal improvements in amount of $80,000.
The above transfers are required to support the overall project
cost of $776,344.00.
