AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
TO ADD A SECTION PROHIBITING SOLICITATION
ON OR ALONG 14AJOR OR MINOR ARTERIAL STREETS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, solicitation along major or minor arterial
streets of the City of Little Rock impedes the flow of
traffic in the City; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors
to make the streets as safe as possible for the citizens
of the City of Little Rock.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of
Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. Chapter 28 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Little Rock is hereby amended to add a
Section to read as follows:
Solicitation on or along major or minor arterial
streets of the City of Little Rock is hereby prohibited.
Section 2. It is hereby found and determined that
there is an immediate and urgent need to protect the safety
of the citizens of the City of Little Rock by prohibiting
solicitation on or along major or minor arterial streets
of the City and that the prohibition of such solicitation is
necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety
and welfare. Therefore, an emergency is declared to exist
and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
