AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14,181
TO CORRECT A LEGAL PROPERTY DESCRIPTION OF
A STREET AND ALLEY CLOSURE (FOREST AVENUE)
IN ARKANSAS HEIGHTS ADDITION; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 14,181 the west
twenty feet (20') of Forest Avenue and the south half of an
east -west fifteen foot alley adjacent to Lots 6, 7, 8,
9 and 10 of Block 23 were closed;
WHEREAS, only the west twenty feet and not the
entire forty feet of Forest Avenue were closed because of
a mistaken assumption that the eastern twenty feet had
already been previously closed; and

WHEREAS, only the south half of an east -west fifteen
foot alley adjacent to Lots 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Block 23
was closed because of a mistaken assumption that the other
half of the alley had been previously closed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of
Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 14,181 is hereby amended
so that the legal description of Forest Avenue contained in
Section 1 of that ordinance reads as follows:
FOREST AVENUE: 40' R/W running south from
West Markham Street and adjacent to Blocks
23, 24, 21, 22, 20, 19, 17 and 18 to the
north line of the Rock Creek Floodway.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 14,181 is hereby amended
so that the legal description of the alleys contained in
Section 1 on page two of that ordinance shall read as
follows:
The E -W 15 -foot alleys in; the east half of Block
3, the east half of Block 6, the east half of
Block 7, Block 24, 23, Block 4, Block 21, Block
22, Block 5, Block 20, Block 19, Block 8,
Block 17 and Block 18.

Section 3. Ordinance No. 14,181 is hereby amended
to delete the second alley legal description contained in
Section 1, page two of that ordinance, being "the south
half of an E -W 15 -foot alley adjacent to Lots 6, 7, 8,
9, and 10, Block 23."
Section 4. All closures of property described
in Ordinance No. 14,181 and as amended herein shall be
subject to any public utility or drainage easements
located in said streets and alleys.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall remain in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.

CORPORATE HILL SUBDIVISION /STREET CLOSURES
NAME: Markham Street Joint Venture
LOCATION: South side of West Markham St., one block
west of Oak Lane
REQUEST: To modify the legal description in the
ordinance abandoning streets and alleys
within Arkansas Heights Addition.
The Arkansas Heights Addition is being
replatted as Corporate Hill Subdivision.
This replat required closure of various
streets by Ordinance No. 14,181, dated
January 19, 1982.
The petitioner, in drafting the ordinance
description, erred by omitting one -half
street segment and one -half alley segment.
These right -of -way segments are requested
to be included in the ordinance in as much
that was the original intent and there are
no objectors.
The original Planning Commission approval
imbodied the closure of these rights -of -way.
