A RESOLUTION OF THE LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF
DIRECTORS EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION TO THE
MANY PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS RESPONSIBLE FOR
THE RECEIPT OF THE "UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION TO
PLANNING AWARD" GIVEN BY THE ARKANSAS CHAPTER
OF THE AMERICAN PLANNING ASSOCIATION.

WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock was recently awarded the
"Unique Contribution to Planning Award" by the Arkansas Chapter of
the American Planning Association for the development and passage
of a comprehensive package of land alteration regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Excavation Ordinance, as it is commonly known,
was created and passed into law due to the concerted help of
various people and organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors for the City of Little
Rock wishes to express its appreciation to the City Beautiful
Commission for its dedication and vision in seeing the Excavation
Ordinance become a reality.
SECTION 2. The Little Rock Board of Directors wishes to
also express its gratitude to the Department of Public Works and
the Office of Comprehensive Planning for the contributions these
departments made to the development of a package of comprehensive
land alteration regulations.

SECTION 3. Particular recognition is to be bestowed on Mr.
Mike Batie, Section Chief for the Civil Engineering Division of
the Department of Public Works, for his zealous dedication, and
outstanding contributions toward this effort.
