BROWN, JR. INDUSTRIAL HARBOR. WHEREAS, Fred I. Brown, Jr. is a charter member of and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Little Rock Port Authority since July 6, 1965; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brown has sought to develop the Port of Little Rock for the maximum benefit to the citizens of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brown has devoted many hours and has given unselfishly of his time, business and management skills; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brown, through persistence and devotion to the development of Port facilities has caused the construction of a superior Slack Water Industrial Harbor at the Port of Little Rock. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Slack Water Industrial Harbor at the Port of Little Rock shall hence forward be officially named and known as the "Fred I. Brown, Jr. Industrial Harbor," such designation being given as a reflection of the appreciation of the citizens of Little Rock for the long- standing dedication and contributions given by Fred I. Brown, Jr. to the Port of Little Rock. SECTION 2. The Little Rock Port Authority is hereby directed to erect a permanent plaque reflecting the official name of the City's slack water harbor.
