A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH HARTFORD
INSURANCE COMPANY FOR LONG -TERM DISABILITY
FOR CITY EMPLOYEES, EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with Hartford Insurance Company for long -term
disability insurance for City employees, effective May 1, 1987,
to be paid for with funds previously appropriated for this
purpose.

BOARD ACTION RECOMMENDED: Approval of a resolution
authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract for
long -term disability insurance with the Hartford Insurance
Company.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Hartford Insurance Company
su mitted the low bi in a bid solicitation by the Personnel
Department for long -term disability insurance. The Hartford
bid is at a premium rate of 68� per $100 of monthly payroll.
This is an annual premium of approximately $101,000 compared
to the present premium of approximately $118,500 with the
Travelers Insurance Company.
