NOTE: The Reconvened Meeting was held at 11:30 A.M. rather
than 1:30 P. M. so that Board Members could attend the funeral
of former Mayor Donald L. Mehlburger.

Little Rock, Arkansas
May 27, 1992 - 11:35 A.M.
The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
reconvened from the May 19, 1992, regular meeting with Mayor
Priest presiding. City Clerk Robbie Hancock called the roll with
the following Directors present: Directors Roy, Hollingsworth,
Lewellen, and Dailey - total 4; Absent - Directors Shackelford
and Catlett - total 2.
With a quorum present, Mayor Priest declared the Board of
Directors in session and announced that the Board would recess to
Executive Session to consider appointments.
When the Board of Directors reconvened at 12:00 Noon from
Executive Session, Mayor Priest presided and the following
Directors were present: Directors Roy, Hollingsworth, Lewellen,
Dailey and Catlett - total 5; Absent - Director Shackelford -
total 1.
Mayor Priest announced that the Board of Directors had
appointed members of the Billboard Task Force to deal with the
issues of the Sign Ordinance (No. 16,181 - passed February 18,
1992) relating to alterations and permit fees for off - premise
signs (billboards) . (See Minutes of May 13, 1992.) She stated
that City Director Hamp Roy will serve as chairman of the Task
Force and the members are as follows:
Board of Directors Representatives: Directors Hamp Roy and
John Lewellen.
Outdoor Advertising Representatives: Don Burris of Donrey
Outdoor Advertising Company and Jasper Burton of Cuerden
Sign Company.
Landowners Representative: John Schelereth of Baird, Inc.
City Beautiful Commission Representative: Shalah Crenshaw
Brummett.
Architectural Representative: Gene Levy.
Neighborhood Group Representative: Kenyon Lowe.
Mr. Jim Lawson, Director of the Department of Neighborhoods
and Planning, addressed the Board of Directors regarding a
condemned house at 16th and Schiller (2024 West 16th Street /1523
Schiller Street), owned by Mr. John Bradford. Mr. Lawson stated
that Mr. Bradford has hired a contractor to begin work on the
exterior of the house and three rooms inside the house and has
agreed that the exterior work will be completed within sixty (60)
days. A motion was made by Director Dailey, seconded by Director
Lewellen, to grant Mr. Bradford a sixty (60) day extension for
renovating the condemned structure at 16th and Schiller Streets.
The motion was unanimously adopted by the Board Members present.
There being no further business to be presented, the Board
of Directors adjourned at 12:10 o'clock P.M. to meet again in
regular session on Tuesday, June 2, 1992, at 6:00 o'clock P.M.
