RESOLUTION NO. 6,832
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE
1982 STREET SLURRY SEAL PROGRAM; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, invitations to bid were duly advertised, and bids
received pursuant thereto are attached as Exhibit A for the
1982 Street Slurry Seal Program, and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bidder has
been determined,and it is the desire of the Board of Directors
to authorize the issuance of a contract for such purposes to the
lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract with the bidder named on the attached Exhibit A for the
total contract price as set out, funds for which have been
allocated in the 1982 Budget.
SECTION 2. All items and work to be purchased herein shall
comply with the bidding specifications. Upon receipt of the items,
or from time to time as may be required, the City Manager and the
Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to issue the
necessary warrants in payment of the contract price.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption and approval.

DISCUSSION:
It is recommended that the bid submitted
by B.A.S.S. of $77,488.00 be accepted. All
area asphalt contractors were notified both
by mail and telephone, however, B.A.S.S.
was the only one to respond. Ben Hogan
intended to quote but failed to do so. This
is a relatively new process and some compa-
nies may not be equiped at this time well
enough to respond to this bid.

PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY IN BLOCK 32
Centennial ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.

WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the Board of Directors of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 24th day of June 19 82.
asking the Board of Directors to vacate and abandon all of the alley in Block 32
of Centennial Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, as
designated on the plat of said Addition now appearing of record in Deed BookL3_,
Page, in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, subject,
however, to any public utility easements located in said.alley.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The hearing on said petition shall be held.at the meeting of the
Board of Directors in the City Hall at 7 30 o'clock P.M., on the 17th
day of August , 19 82
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of such hearing
in the manner prescribed by law by publication once a week for two (2) consecutive
weeks in a newspaper published in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and having general
circulation in the City of Little Rock.
