6808B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B M RESOLUTION NO. 6,808 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLAN OF THE U.S. CORPS OF ENGINEERS FOR FOURCHE BASIN FLOOD CONTROL; STATING THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR ITS SHARE OF THE NONFEDERAL COSTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has an urgent need for flood protection; and WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has developed alternative plans for the development and flood protection rn of the Fourche Drainage System, which plans were the subject <r rn 0 of a presentation to the Board of Directors and reviewed by x u� various staff members of the City of Little Rock; and 0 x WHEREAS, after review and consideration of these plans, v v M it has been determined that Plan VII with acquisition of Fourche Bottoms (the plan recommended by the Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors) be authorized and funded for construction for the reasons that said plan combines elements of structural development, land acquisition, floodplain management, recreation and preservation of historical, environmental and archaeological sites; and WHEREAS, the City desires to see expeditious approval funding and implementation of Plan VII. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock hereby approves and intends to sponsor the plan of the U.S. Corps of Engineers for Fourche Bayou Basin. SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock commits to provide for 75 percent of the nonfederal share of the cost of the project. SECTION 3. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock hereby states its intent to appropriate General Revenue Sharing funds received by the City in 1983 and 1984 in an amount necessary to provide for 75 percent of the nonfederal cost of the project.
